The transcripts from the conference are available as a book, published by Axle Contemporary Press, available by clicking here. This webpage serves as a visual companion to the book, with links to websites, videos that were shown, and several of the slideshows that the artists presented.

Questions discussed included, what is meaningful engagement with the public through art, and how can it be gaged?  How does the language used in a project attract or exclude the audience?  Is art that is sympathetic to a specific movement or idea propaganda? Projects explored included ephemeral works, unexpected, anonymous or guerilla actions, and social interventions.

In September of 2014, a group of artists came together at the Center for Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe to investigate and compare notes on their experiences creating public art.
